Folks,

We’ve got several major updates to share with the community, and it’s important that everybody takes the time to read through this post carefully from start to finish. Some of these updates apply directly to public services, some apply to business owners, and some apply more broadly to the community as a whole. Either way, everybody needs to be up to speed on where we’re headed and what’s expected moving forward.

Public Services Academy

From March 16th, 2026 through April 3rd, 2026, we will be holding a Public Services Academy for Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement.

The purpose of this academy is to improve quality, consistency, coordination, and readiness across all three public service paths. This will not be a one-size-fits-all training block tossed together for the sake of appearances. We are intentionally dividing this academy into structured phases so people can build from shared expectations into department-specific knowledge, and then finally into mutual aid and inter-department cooperation.

Phase 1 – Universal Training

The first portion of academy will focus on universal training. This means all attendees will receive instruction on shared expectations and systems that apply regardless of whether they are Fire, EMS, or LEO.

This portion will include:

  • CAD training
  • Radio training
  • Dispatch expectations
  • Scene expectations
  • General conduct, communication, and operational standards

The goal here is simple: before anybody branches into their own department lane, everybody needs to understand the common framework we are all expected to work within. We want people speaking the same language, using the same tools properly, and understanding what is expected of them when they arrive on scene, communicate over radio, or interact with dispatch and other responders.

Phase 2 – Department-Based Training

The second portion of academy will split into department-specific training blocks for:

  • Fire
  • EMS
  • LEO

These trainings will focus on the unique procedures, roles, priorities, and operational expectations for each discipline. While there is a shared baseline for public services, there are also important differences in how each department functions, and we want those expectations to be clear and organized rather than vague or assumed.

Department-specific training should be used to build confidence, reinforce standards, and help make sure each department is functioning with the structure it needs.

Phase 3 – Mutual Aid & Shared Training

The third portion of the academy will bring everyone back together for Mutual Aid and Shared Training.

All three groups will meet at the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office auditorium and begin training there together. This phase is meant to reinforce cross-department coordination and improve how Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement work alongside one another when responding to scenes that involve multiple agencies.

This is one of the most important parts of the academy. It is not enough for departments to function well individually. They also need to function well together. That means better communication, clearer expectations, and more confidence in how scenes are handled when multiple services are present. Smooth coordination should never depend on guesswork, panic, or everybody trying to figure it out in the moment like a suspicious waffle left on the hood of a patrol car.

Department Head Expectations

All Department Heads are expected to have their Department SOPs and Expectations fully completed and submitted by March 20th, 2026.

This deadline is important. If your department is going to train people properly, there needs to be a written standard in place for what that department expects, how it operates, and what members are accountable for. These materials need to be done on time so the academy can proceed with consistency and structure.

Tickets and Issue Reporting

Another thing that needs to be made very clear:

Issues, whether urgent or non-urgent, require a ticket.

This is especially important on nights where scenes are active, multiple people are engaged, and staff are balancing several things at once. We have a team here for a reason. There are multiple people capable of helping, resolving issues, and keeping things moving.

I know some of you adore the absolute hell out of certain individuals and want to go straight to them for everything, but we need to make sure people are using the proper channels so issues can be tracked, addressed, and handled by the staff team as a whole. That helps everyone. It prevents confusion, avoids bottlenecks, and makes sure nothing important gets lost because somebody tried to handle it through side messages or by only going to one person.

Use the ticket system. Let the team help you.

Please Re-Read the Info Channel

I’m also asking everybody to go back through the #info channel and give it another full read.

There have been some recent updates made there, and it is important that everybody is working from the same information. Things evolve, expectations shift, and community structures get adjusted as we continue growing. That means you cannot rely on what you vaguely remember reading weeks ago and assume you’re still fully current.

Please also keep this in mind: we are a small server that is actively trying to grow. That means flexibility matters. There may be times when people do not want to primary a certain type of character or commit to one lane all the time. Be mindful of that. We want growth, sustainability, and a healthy environment, not rigid expectations that ignore the reality of where we are as a community.

Businesses

If you own a business, there are some major changes coming that you need to prepare for.

1. Business Taxes

The state will begin collecting business taxes twice a month.

The tax rate will be 3% of your total sales for that month.

This is part of a broader push toward structure, oversight, and ensuring businesses are operating in a way that reflects the role they play in the wider economy.

2. Opening a New Business

If you wish to open a new business, you will now need to meet with the appropriate government official depending on where that business will be located.

  • If your business will be in Blaine County, you must meet with the Mayor
  • If your business will be in Los Santos, you must meet with President Dave Chorez

This process is intended to create a more structured pathway for new businesses and ensure that openings are coordinated properly rather than loosely dropped into the world without any oversight.

3. State Business Evaluations

The state will also begin coming by to evaluate businesses to ensure they are able to function properly.

If your business is running into issues, if you have requests, or if there are barriers preventing you from operating how you need to, this evaluation period is the time to say so. This should be viewed as both accountability and opportunity. We want businesses to succeed, but we also want them to be functional, active, and contributing meaningfully.

Real Estate and Housing

We will also be setting up time for people who are interested in owning a house to meet with a real estate agent.

More details on scheduling and how that process will work will be shared as we finalize it, but for now, know that housing and property ownership are areas we’re actively working on organizing better. If this is something you’ve been interested in, keep an eye out for further information.

Final Notes

Please read this post fully, take it seriously, and make sure you understand what applies to you.

There is a lot moving at once:

  • Public services are entering a structured academy period
  • Department heads have deliverables due by March 20th, 2026
  • Ticketing expectations are being reinforced
  • Business owners are about to see new processes and tax requirements
  • Housing discussions are beginning to take shape

We’re trying to build something stronger, more organized, and better prepared for growth. That only works if people stay informed and do their part.

Once you’ve read this post fully, there is one additional thing you need to do.

React to the Discord announcement, and once you’ve found what you’re looking for, open a ticket.
