Folks,

Sheriff Dusty Hargrove here with another note From Dusty’s Desk.

Now, not every day in Blaine County is sirens, reports, and chasing folks who think the law is just a suggestion. Sometimes, it’s the little things that remind me why this county is worth protecting.

This past week, Blaine County has been buzzing in the best kind of way. Families out enjoying the weather, local businesses staying busy, folks filling up diners and gas stations, and more people than usual making their way out toward the water and trails. You can feel it — that steady kind of life that makes this county what it is.
Our deputies have been keeping an eye on things as always, especially with the extra traffic coming through. We’ve had a few speeders who forgot this isn’t a racetrack, a couple disturbances that got talked down before they turned into something bigger, and more than one call that turned out to be somebody’s cousin causing a scene in a parking lot. Standard Blaine County activity.

But I’ll tell you what — I’d rather deal with loud arguments and bad parking than the kind of mess that puts good people in danger.

What I’ve seen lately is neighbors looking out for each other. Business owners checking in on nearby shops. Citizens calling things in early before a problem grows teeth. That matters. A lot. Law enforcement works best when the community and the badge are rowing in the same direction.
So if you’ve been doing your part — locking your vehicles, driving like you got sense, checking on your people, and reporting what needs reporting — keep at it. That’s how we keep Blaine County strong.
We’re going to keep doing what we do: patrol the roads, answer the calls, and make sure the folks trying to live right can do so in peace.
Stay safe, stay sharp, and for the love of all things holy, use your turn signal.

Dusty’s Catch (Weekend Edition):
Managed to get a little time out on the water this weekend and pulled in a fine largemouth bass out near the Alamo Sea — solid fight, good size, and mean enough to make me earn it. Ain’t much better than a quiet morning, a fishing rod, and no radio traffic. More on next weekend’s catch if Ms. Tuesday lets me go fishing again, haha!

Included too, a picture from local painter Mr. Fu, he's over at the Digital Den in Sandy. Long time friend, and a talented lil' joker in terms of painting.
